To Autumn

"The spirits of the air live on the smells
Of fruit; and joy, with pinions light, roves round
The gardens, or sits singing in the trees."
Thus sang the jolly Autumn as he sat;
Then rose, girded himself, and o'er the bleak
Hills fled from our sight; but left his golden load."

- William Blake

Someday I'll be harvesting tangy pomegranates and sweet persimmons at this time of year, but until those trees mature, November produce yields are rather small, limited to lightweight leafy greens: Swiss chard, lettuces, and herbs.

November 2010:

3 lbs. of fresh fruits and veggies
45 eggs

Since June 1, 2010:
342 lbs. of fresh fruits and veggies
271 eggs

We have a 1/10th acre lot and a 20x20 foot community garden plot.
