The Art Show
What could be better than an art show featuring 600 of your favorite artists? Last week was my kid's school art show. The art show I was in charge of. Good grief, what was I thinking! As a matter of fact, I'm in charge of the whole art program at their school. Luckily, I don't have to come up with the projects. We have a great program where volunteers learn the projects from local artists and then teach them to their kids classrooms. I just oversee the volunteers, teach a few classes, and buy all the supplies (my favorite part!) After a lot of last minute emergencies and changes, a million staples and one very sore stapler wielding hand (mine) the art show was ready to go! Then the rain clouds rolled in. I am not making this up. How often does it rain in LA? That's right, only on art show night. Thankfully, we could move most of the partition boards under cover, and the papier mache masks weren't all that damaged. The very best part was watching little kids excitedly find their picture and say, "Look mom and dad, there's mine!" Awww.
